Hoist control cabinets
and other electric equipment
Our company offers modernization or assembling a new lifting mechanism control cabinet as part of frequency converters of a crane series INVT GD350-19 or another brand at the request of the customer.
The range of lifting mechanisms can be as wide as possible:
crane beams, overhead cranes, portal cranes, gantry cranes, taps boom type, tower cranes, crawler cranes, railway cranes, console cranes, cable taps, mine winches, port winches, conveyors of various types
By default, manufacturers of lifting mechanisms use control cabinets on contactors (mechanical phase closure), They are not the optimal solution, although they are cheap and have many disadvantages:
-
Large motor starting currents
-
Sudden starts and stops of the engine lead to swinging of the load, which is dangerous, especially in cramped conditions (loading on board, loading into even stacks)
-
Mechanical electrical switching connections the chain wears out and requires periodic replacement or repair, which means stopping the crane.
-
There is no number of protections for electric motors, such as, for example, against overvoltage or short-term overcurrent.
-
A highly qualified crane operator is required to control sudden movements and countercurrent (moving in the opposite direction for the purpose of braking).
-
The time required to position the crane over a point is increased due to the lack of sway compensation.
-
It is impossible to collect data on the operation of equipment (the amount of products moved, the amount of electricity consumed, peak current values, indication of the crane in operation) for dispatching or communication with existing equipment for connecting to top-level information systems for collecting global statistics
-
The control system on the contactors has large cabinets with intricate connections.switching, often lost documentation, which complicates maintenance.
-
Sudden starts and stops of the engine lead to swinging of the load, which is dangerous, especially in tight spaces.
Frequently converters do not have mechanical parts, which speeds up switching, have the ability to regulate voltage, control/limit current, torque, speed and much more, which eliminates the above disadvantages of contactors, and also adds the following functionality:
-
Limit the amount of torque of the lifting mechanism (it will not be possible to lift a load above a given weight), protection against snagging, cable rupture, etc.
-
Radjusting crane speeds and working with joysticks rather than buttons.
-
Compensation for load swing, which can speed up crane loading and loading cycles and reduce requirements for crane operators
-
Avoid wheel synchronization shafts, because you can synchronize the engines using an “electronic gearbox”, this will reduce the weight of the structure, and as a result, electricity consumption, and increase the durability of the mechanical parts (sometimes working on counter-currents greatly loosens the mechanisms or even breaks off the wheel synchronization shafts).
-
The use of encoders will allow you to program the crane's stopping points and set the limits of their permissible movement so that the operator does not leave the permissible zone or cannot move the crane until he lifts the load to the highest point.
-
Implement emergency stops for a wide range of events, such as a cable break or phase loss, or vehicles passing through the crane path (you need to study the specific situation).
-
Program the ability to work only during certain hours of the day.
-
Implement a DC brake in the absence of mechanical brakes, and hold it even when the engine is stopped to minimize mechanical irregularities.
All this functionality will reduce crane downtime due to breakdowns, reduce the operator’s qualifications and reduce the likelihood of his mistakes. Our company can manufacture an appropriate crane control cabinet based on INVT frequency converters for your needs. To do this, please fill out a questionnaire about the Customer’s needs in electronic form, and invite us for a visual inspection of the crane, its engines and discussion of the required functionality.
If you are upgrading an existing cabinet, please also fill out the questionnaire And attach the existing electrical diagram of the cabinet.
